Christmas is getting closer! The right to-do list app helps you with productivity & task management

To be prepared for a relaxing time off during Christmas Holidays, we’ve put some time into showing you why it’s time to ditch the to-do list notepad and start using apps that will help improve your productivity. These 3 to-do list apps will let you improve your task management and efficiency. So, download your fav and get ready for Christmas Holidays!

Have you ever felt like 24 hours in a day seems not to be enough for all the things you have to complete and accomplish? Have you ever thought about sacrificing rest, relaxation, and time with your family and self for the sake of tasks which seem to never end?

Well, a lot of people do. You are not alone. You are part of the crowd. However, those who follow the crowd get lost in it.

Small business owners and entrepreneurs suffer from poor time management. The more a business grows and profit increases, the demand for time multiplies along. If only we can buy time somewhere, right?

How do you create more time to get things done?

“Time should not have the power over you, you have power over your time.”

The only thing is, you don’t need more time to finish all that you need to do. You don’t have to go sleepless and miss family time because of your job. You should not miss the time to be with the kids on school holidays or miss the Christmas shopping spree to make up for the extra tasks you have. Time should not have power over you. You should have power over time.

How exactly do you take ownership of your time and make it completely under your control? How do you go from being productive to being effective?

You can simplify task management and have your time allocated in a blink of an eye with some pretty clever technology that will help you keep on track. We picked out the 3 best to-do list apps for task management of 2020.

Have a look at these to-do list apps to see which one you can use to make sure the next two months are as efficient as possible, and to make it the best Christmas you’ve had yet!

1. Trello – A collaboration tool that helps organising your projects

Trello - a to-do list app that will help improve your productivity

FREE – up to 10 boards per team
$9.99 US per user per month for a business class package. This includes unlimited boards & power-ups.

By far Trello is our favourite pick when it comes to a practical and eye pleasing to-do list app.
If you are looking for a simple tool with many features you can personalise, and if you are the type of person who wants your items organised in your own way including photos, color codes and tick boxes, then Trello might be your best escape.

The Trello board is not only aesthetically appealing, but also very easy to manage, customisable, and will definitely help you with your own management of your tasks and your time. You can download the app on your phone, or you can use your browser to work with the app.

Trello’s unique drag and drop functionality makes your to-do list come to life

Trello gives its users the ability to drag, drop, color-code, edit, and break down tasks into boards and cards (the items in your list) It offers so many more features that other applications do not provide – some of which include setting deadlines, adding notes, letting members comment on the cards, adding checklists and notes, and attaching files from videos to documents to internet links. You can also personalise your view of your tasks… would you like to see it in a big calendar view or a list? It’s up to you!

Here is a short video from Mieke, our Marketing Manager, explaining how she’s been using Trello.

I recently started using Trello – before that, I had been writing tasks on sticky notes and stuck these on my wall. I even divided these in columns with “to do” “doing” and “done”! However it happened too often that the sticky note would lose its stickiness and fall off. Oops! So, then I started writing down my tasks in a calendar. The problem here is I would have so many tasks in a day that the calendar space would no longer be enough. I want all my tasks visible to me on one click- that’s when I started using Trello. It is exactly what I was looking for!

2. GQueues – A to-do list app linked to your Google Account

Gqueues - a simple yet very effective to-do list app that brings you a relaxing Christmas off.

FREE basic package
$36 US a year for premium use 1 person
$46 US a year of premium use for teams

Why use Gqueues? Well, the real question is, why not?

Gqueues is integrated with Google, and makes the use of Single sign-on, which means that if you’re using Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) within your business, you will have entirely one login for your email, calendar, data storage, and everything else that you use Google for. One password for everything including your own personal time manager!

This productivity tool also has a lot of features useful for individual time management (your own personal journal of tasks) or your team’s. You can divide your tasks into categories, assign them specifically to people in your team, add notes and comments to communicate your tasks with your team, set due dates and add tasks in your calendar, and access everything else on a separate phone application so you’re always ready to go.

Gqueues is very easy to use. You won’t even need a tutorial to figure it out. The functions can also be integrated to all your Google apps. If you are looking for a tool that’ll be ideal for a team of people you manage, you should definitely try it out.

3. Wrike helps you streamlining work processes

Wrike - A to-do list app that brings you a streamlined work process and ideal for collaboration.

FREE – for up to 5 users
$9.80 US per month between 5-15 users

Wrike is a project management tool used for streamlining the internal processes and collaborating with team members. It is now being acclaimed as the ultimate problem solver- one of those would be making the most of your time.

This tool specialises in both small and large project management. Internal team discussion is also enabled, workflow can be documented through a publication workflow, the procedures can be graphed and mapped out for reference, onboarding and training can be implemented through the application, project objectives can be tracked, and most commonly used sites can be bookmarked.

Wrike may sound like an entirely different to-do app among the others which have the task management functions, but it definitely simplifies job allocation and makes communication and processes easier and more accessible.
